Monday mornings at Gimnasio Los Portales happen to be very special. Girls arrive at school and go to the Reflection activity, where our Headmaster, Elsa Cristina, leads the morning prayer.

Afterwards the school’s Music Department presents a small concert. It’s purpose is to nourish the musical and general knowledge of the school community, as well as to teach the students to listen and to be open to new and different expressions and cultures.           

The teachers of the Music Department participate actively in these presentations by playing, looking for repertoire and occasionally inviting members of the Portales community who have good musical skills to sing, dance or play. Up to now the Musical Mondays program has been very successful, thus students and teachers enjoy greatly starting the week with music, apart from being enriching and educational.
